Hi! My name is Marjorie.

Marjorie Henriquez is an artist based in Alexandria, VA. Holding both an Associates of Fine Arts in Visual Arts from Northern Virginia Community College. And a Bachelor of Arts in Design Studies (with a minor in Graphic and Media Design) from Marymount University.

Her creative journey started off when she was young child, she would put activity programs on the tv and follow along with the cartoonist drawing on her giant paper pad with markers. During her time in high school, her love for art grew immensely due to the influence of her art teacher. She also knew she wanted to paint or draw professionally, but ended up exploring other career options first.

While in community college, she began to toggle with the idea of having her own business. But was unsure of what she wanted her business to be about. She still had painting and drawing in the back of her mind. But continued to explore other career options such as art education, eventually changing her major to her design studies.

After obtaining her undergraduate degree, she began working as an in-house artist at a custom stationery shop where she drew and painted venues, pets, and cocktails for wedding stationery. It was here, in an incidental manner. She learned more about the wedding industry, which lead to the world of live event painting. It was at this point where everything clicked for her. The rest is history!

On her free time, Marjorie loves to ride her bicycle. Her favorite subject to paint are characters from horror movies!

When Marjorie was 12 years old, she was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). A fun fact about lupus is that a large portion of patients are photosensitive. Meaning some patients can be unusually sensitive to the sun. It is important to limit sun exposure and/or wear sunscreen to prevent flare ups.

Making the best of this restriction, she simply became interested in all things celestial.

In sum, her combined love of painting, drawing, and celestials is what inspired the logo.
